july 1 commitment update

I wrote a blog 6 months ago about committing to a healthier me.
( 'commitment list' found in Feb. archive )
I started on February 1st.
Today is July 1st.
I can't believe that 6 months has gone by.

that being said
Warning
I will occasionally
YELL
on here today

6 little months later
it's time to check in
I hit a new personal goal.
Actually a couple personal goals.
I feel

REALLY
REALLY
REALLY
GREAT!

and that was the whole plan
 just wanted to feel better
I got more than
'JUST'
feeling better
I have to say
(in the words of Kristin at Bringing Back Pretty )

I'M FEELING ALL SASSY WITH MYSELF!
(I just yelled that out loud)
(hahahahah)
(really I did!)

I started moving and I kept moving.

What used to take me 45 minutes
in a
 kick butt
power walking speed

as of this morning the same distance takes me
(yelling here)
29 minutes and 20 seconds
in
running speed!

but wait
there's more

I LOST
4.5359 KILOGRAMS
that's
10 POUNDS

I'm not talking about 10 lbs
of water weight here
I'm talking about
taking
flabby
fat-fat-fat
and
turning it
into
strong muscle
I cannot do that in 1 week
I couldn't do it in 1 month
this was a commitment thing
I did it for
ME
and
to that I will say
to myself
GO ME!

and guess what else happened

I have lost
.5 inches from each upper arm
2 inches from each thigh
3.5 inches from my tummy
3.5 inches from my behind

GO ME!
(cartwheel annnnnd into the splits!)
(not really)
(not the splits part)

so what did I do?
I
MOVED MY BUTT!
and
I cut WAY back
on
bread, dairy, cheese, oils, egg, sugar
I increased my fiber big time
I eat 1 apple every single day
I started taking control of
why and when and how
I was eating
I started to take control of  me
inside
and
out
so to that
I say

GO ME!

  2. Awesome! Yay, you...very impressive! I wish I had your energy...not even knowing that I'll have more energy if I start exercising seems to be enough incentive ;)

Thanks so much for your kind comments at my place...glad I could prove your sanity regarding Easter LOL! And, thanks for picking up my button...I always get a little happy thrill when I see some kind person display it :D

Have a great day (it's grey, cold and windy up here today...hope it's not the end of summer already!)

  3. Thank you ladies!!!! I mean really thank you for the encouragement and support!

Tezzie how far up are you? My guys are in the North flyfishing. They are in their last week now in Hossa, Finland. We've had some melty hot weather here in the South since last week 28-30C and humid, not a fan of all that! I took a boat out to Suomenlinna yesterday and even on the island it was hot! Last night was much better sleeping weather hoping to stay around 20c today.

  4. Since I'm blogging "incognito", I prefer to not say exactly my location (since it's about population 50, and anyone googling the place name would find me in a sec ;D...but drive about an hour north from Vaasa and you'll be in the 'hood LOL. We had some of that warm and humid weather here, too, and it's much preferred since we can at least call it summer! After the terribly long and cold winters we've had the past 2 years, I've come to treasure the warm summer weather <3 I'm off to the cottage now for a week in Eastern Finland, so I'm hoping for summer days there, for sure!

Happy 4th of July, by the way :D

  5. Well I can understand and respect that! Village of 50 I'm not sure that would be for me. You can email me if you ever want to chitty chat with your hair down!

We stayed at almost a cool 17c today. I ran this morning in some light rain and I was happy for it! I can relate to the hard Winter of 2010/2011, that was my first Finland winter and not what I expected. BLAHHHH!

Have a great time at the mökki or is it stuga in Swedish. Either way enjoy the cottage! :)
